- Proof of legal presence: Valid passport, I-94, I-20 or DS-2019, and visa.
- Proof of NC residency: A letter from your schoolâs Registrar with your NC address works.
- Social Security card: If you donât have one, your legal documents will cover this.
- Proof of insurance (or waiver if applicable).
- Application fee: $4 per year (license lasts 5 or 8 years or until your legal stay ends). Cash or check only.
- Tests Youâll Take:
- Vision
- Traffic signs
- Driving knowledge
- Road test (bring your own car or rent one)
